Sarmiento Line Train Service Suspended in Buenos Aires

In Buenos Aires, trains on the Sarmiento line will not run on Saturday or Sunday due to maintenance works. Service will be restricted on Monday and Tuesday. Sources from Trenes Argentinos informed Noticias Argentinas agency that the Once-Moreno branch of the Sarmiento line will not operate on February 14 and 15, and will run with limitations between Haedo and Moreno from February 16 to 17 at 6 PM. The works correspond to the complete renewal of the signaling system on the Villa Luro-Liniers section, carried out under the framework of the Railway Emergency declared by the National Government. Due to the nature of the tasks, it will be necessary to interrupt the electricity supply on the main tracks, which makes the normal operation of trains impossible. The work consists of laying main cables for the new signaling system and transferring the track circuits to new and more modern ones between Haedo and Castelar. In parallel, work will advance on the new underpasses at Lorca street (between Caballito and Flores) and Yrigoyen street (between Villa Luro and Liniers), where adjustments will be made in the track area. Therefore, passengers can check updates at https://www.argentina.gob.ar/modificaciones-en-el-servicio-y-novedades or on the Trenes Argentinos APP. Additionally, tasks for the renewal of the railway layout at Once station will be carried out with their own staff. The works could be suspended if the weather conditions are unfavorable.
